Robe Coats & Sweaters

Inspired by the classic house robe, the robe coat is usually mid length, ties around the waist, and has an oversized slouchy silhouette. Designers such as Chloe, Richard Chai, and Altuzarra included robe outerwear in their Fall 2014 collections ranging anywhere from thick knits to soft suedes. This ultra comfortable and cozy piece is perfect for layering in the colder months of fall and winter.

60’s Style (Mod)

The 60’s era is making a major comeback this fall. Anything from mini skirts, knee high boots, high necklines, and big hair, this mod trend is everywhere. Mui Mui, Valentino, Louis Vuitton, and Gucci all incorporated the 60’s in their Fall 2014 collections with fun patterns, bright colors, and of course the classic mini A-line dress. This silhouette is perfect over leggings or tights, paired with a mid length coat and a bright lip color.

Fair Isle Print/Pattern

This popular print is the ultimate fall and winter must have. Seen on chunky sweaters, leggings, hats, scarves and everything in between; Fair Isle happily reminds us of the holidays. Included in designer collections such as Tommy Hilfiger, Rag & Bone, and Burberry, we are left day-dreaming of ski resorts, and log cabins.

Oversized Turtlenecks

The last time turtlenecks were this popular was back in the 90’s and boy have they made a comeback. Especially popular in thick chunky sweaters; oversized turtlenecks eliminate the need for scarves or even sometimes outerwear in general. They add texture, warmth, and sophistication to a classic fall look, so be sure to check out Helmut Lang, Joie, and Phillip Lim for some of our favorites.

Sneakers

The sneakers trend has to be the biggest trend this fall. Extremely popular with fashion bloggers, and high-end designers, the sneaker blends comfort and style in a perfectly chic way. Anything from bright statement sneaks to sleek neutrals with metal hardware; the sneaker trend has realism making a major comeback. Marc by Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Edun are just a few of the major designers having some fun with this 2014 trend.

Have fun with your fall fashion!
